The Commons

The Commons is a new online community built for Mansfield ISD powered by cubeless. So what does that mean? Well, quite simply it’s the social and knowledge networking tool we are using to help facilitate conversations and connections among district staff members. We’ve been hearing from a number of sources around the school district about the need to feel connected and hope for collaborative tools. This is one attempt at helping you be successful in your role with the district.

The Commons has three main functions; a robust employee profile lookup, a brilliant question & answer tool and self exploration tags. Staff members with similar interests or expertise can search on terms and find others in the community that match. This creates a unique community network that connects us through commonalities. The profile lookup helps MISD personnel connect and share specialties, location and expertise. Adding your photo to your profile helps to build community, as you can now put a face with a name or voice. Asking and answering questions helps to share a knowledge base among your peers on everything from the serious to the silly. Veteran teachers and other seasoned staff members can share ideas, knowledge, and suggestions with newbies and everyone in between.

Exploration on people, questions or groups can take you down so many paths and show who's interconnected in and outside your campus or department. Have a look, stay a while and share generously as you get connected.
